Janette Mochnacz

| September 7, 2017 – October 1, 2017

Mochnacz’s body of work represents the notion that everything can be beautiful if looked at with receptive eyes. This is a belief that relates to the people, places, and things that we come across in our daily lives; and one that she wishes to communicate to onlookers, via my photographs.

To portray this notion, Mochnacz is exhibiting photographs of subjects that are seen, at first glance, as blight on society, but upon further examination can be seen as something entirely different. Mochnacz exhibits photographs from various abandoned locations, as well as portraits that are a part of Project Humanize, an organization she founded, whose goal is to humanize the homeless through first person conversations, photojournalism, & additional advocacy efforts.
